CareerMee : Privacy Policy


CareerMee GmbH ("CareerMee") provides its service (the "Service") subject to the following Privacy Policy, which may be updated by CareerMee from time to time.

1. Use and Transfer of Personal Data

(1) With registration with CareerMee and during the use of the Service, CareerMee collects, processes and uses the following data of candidates and clients (each a "User") in accordance with applicable data protection law: Name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number and submissions of biographical data (CV's) to the CareerMee Talent Database ("Personal Data").

(2) User agrees that through his/her use of the Service User consents to the collection and use (as set forth in Section 1 (1) above) of User's Personal Data, including the transfer of this information to the Federal Republic of Germany for storage, processing and use by CareerMee and its affiliates.

(3) CareerMee shall use this information for the provision of the Service only. This includes – but is not limited to – customizing content, fulfilling queries and searches, improving the Service, contacting the respective User. CareerMee may also use data in an anonymized way in order to conduct marketing research.

(4) Personal Data shall only be passed to third parties insofar as this is necessary for the performance of the contract or for the invoicing purposes, or if the User has given his or her prior consent thereto. User is advised to check his/her privacy settings of his/her CareerMee account to control what information is disclosed on our Service.

(5) CareerMee does not rent, sell, or share Personal Data with other people or non-affiliated companies except when we have the respective User's express permission or if CareerMee is requested to do so by law.

(6) User shall have the right to revoke his or her previously granted consent at any time with future effect.

(7) User shall have rights to information about, as well as the correction, deletion and restriction of, his or her Personal Data, as afforded to him or her under the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz); these rights shall be exercisable by giving notice by post or e-mail to the contact person specified in Section 2 below.

2. Cookies

(1) CareerMee may set and access cookies on User's computer. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to User's browser from a web site's computers and stored on User's computer's hard drive.

(2) CareerMee uses its cookies for a number of purposes, including to:

i. access information when User "logs in" so CareerMee can provide User with customized content or remember the last page of the Service;"

ii.to support security measures such as requiring re-logging into the Service after a certain amount of time has elapsed;

iii.keep track of preferences specified by User while User is using the Service;

iv. conduct research to improve the Service.

(3) User is free to configure his/her browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or to be notified each time a cookie is set. Each browser is different, so User is advised to check the settings of his/her browser to learn how to change the cookie preferences.

(4) If User rejects all cookies, User may not be able to use these parts of the Service that require User to "log in" and User may not be able to take full advantage of all offerings.

3. IP addresses

(1) When User's web browser requests a web page from another computer on the Internet, it automatically gives that computer the address where it should send the information. This is called the "IP address." (IP stands for "Internet Protocol.").

(2) CareerMee receives IP addresses from all Users because this information is automatically reported by User's browser each time User views a web page.

(3) IP addresses may be used for various purposes, including to analyze service or technology problems reported by our users or engineers that are associated with the IP addresses controlled by a specific web company or ISP and estimate the total number of users visiting CareerMee from specific countries or regions of the world.

4. Contact Person

The contact person for all queries and requests relating to data protection issues, and for the purpose of exercising the rights described in Section 1 is:

Upon request, the contact person shall notify the User of any data stored at CareerMee relating to such User, and of the content of his or her consent.

5. Security Notice

CareerMee shall make every effort to store Personal Data in such manner as to ensure that they cannot be accessed by third parties, and shall use all technical and organizational means available to it for such purpose. In the event of communication by e-mail, however, it is not possible to guarantee complete data security. It is therefore recommended that confidential information be sent by post.
